So I'm on vacation all this week and I don't know what to do with myself. I think I'll try and do a podcast sometime, maybe tomorrow. I want to talk about 7-11s since I've been thinking about 'em lately.

I took all of today to clean and rearrange the apartment. I even went so far as to buy a letter/bill caddy and I mounted it on the cabinets by the phone. I felt so productive. I also threw out all the cardboard boxes that have been piling up from amazon.com and ebay. The apartment feels all roomy and clean. Hence the "breaking free of the old skin" drawing to the right, a stupid reference, but I'm lame and I want to try and post all the drawings I've done up on the blog eventually.

So I finally got my boxes of the new Garbage Pail Kids in. I spent Friday evening ripping 'em open and putting sets together. As far as the new series go, this is probably the best yet. The quality of the art and concepts has been pretty bad, specifically in ANS2, but it's been getting better with each set and this set is the closest to the original GPK yet. The chase cards were pretty good this time too consisting of 9 Magnets and 15 Alphabet cards (which are alphabet stickers that have garbage pail kids bent around the letters.) I miss the scratch and sniff cards of the last three series, but these are that bad and I managed to put a master set together with just two boxes which isn't that bad at all.

So long story short I'm not wicked smart when it comes to websites and junk like that.  I am interested though and I love projects, and this is my current project.  This site and this podcast/blog, etc.  So in the long battle in getting this site whipped into some sort of shape that resembles something I would make, I have won another small war.  I now have my own domain name.  Two actually.  This site can forever and ever (or at least until I don't renew the domain name) be known as www.brandedinthe80s.com.  Le sigh.  I also registered www.smurfwreck.com which I've pointed at this site as well and hope to get something fully created by me up there in the future.  As it stands I'm very happy with where I'm at though. 

So it's Easter and the fiancee and I decided to hit the local park to walk our dog and sort of be lazy.  We stopped and bought some lunch at the local farmer's market and set up a tiny picnic by the pond watching the ducks and geese frolic (you can see some pictures on my flickr account, link to the left).  Anyway while we were eating we noticed this kid who was holding a duckling and we got so pissed off.  I'm never sure about this but we both remember something about the danger of handling a baby animal and how the mother might reject it afterwards.

So later I was taking some pictures and the kid came up to me with the duckling and I told him not to touch them and stuff.  Well he told me this really sad story about how one of the mother ducks was trying to drown it.  Turns out it was true.  I guess it got mixed up in the wrong flock of ducklings and both the parent ducks were trying to kill it.  I was less pissed at the kid seeing as how he was trying to save it and all, but I was still concerned.  Well he kept trying to place it with other flocks as they'd swim by and one of them did take it in and didn't try and kill it.  So I guess there's your Easter good deed for this year.
